World Centric’s molded fiber items are made from sugarcane bagasse, the fibrous material left after juice extraction. Each ton of sugarcane yields about 25% bagasse. While some is used for electricity generation, much is surplus and could be discarded. By repurposing this agricultural byproduct, compostable packaging diverts waste from landfills.

Polylactic Acid (PLA) is a bioplastic derived from plant sugars. Through fermentation, plant sugars are converted into lactic acid, which is then transformed into a polymer and shaped into pellets. On average, PLA production generates 75% fewer greenhouse gases compared to conventional petroleum-based plastics.
